Meet Lou Zanellato — Guitar Instructor, Performer, and Versatile Music Educator

For Lou Zanellato, music has always been a way of life. Raised in a vibrant, music-filled family, Lou was surrounded by diverse styles and sounds from an early age. His musical journey began at the piano, where he developed a strong foundation in rhythm, harmony, and musical structure. But it was his father’s guitar that truly ignited his passion.

At just 12 years old, Lou received his first guitar and quickly demonstrated natural ability—refined through formal lessons and countless hours of dedicated practice. By age 15, his commitment to music caught the attention of his grandparents, both respected piano instructors at Rhapsody in Easton, who encouraged him to pursue classical guitar studies at the same school. This early classical training shaped Lou’s disciplined technique and deep musical understanding.

In 2000, Lou’s path led him to Berklee College of Music, where he immersed himself in ensembles and studied music theory, composition, and guitar performance. Berklee further expanded his musical perspective and solidified his passion for both performing and teaching.

After his studies, Lou returned to Rhapsody as a guitar instructor, teaching alongside his aunt, piano educator Ellen DuBois, for more than a decade. During this time, he also became an active performer throughout New England, playing in multiple bands and exploring genres including blues, rock, metal, progressive, jazz, funk, and folk. His experience spans live performance, recording, songwriting, and long-term music instruction.

When Rhapsody closed, Lou continued to refine his craft through ongoing performance, practice, and study. With over 10 years of professional teaching experience, he brings patience, structure, and inspiration to every lesson. Lou teaches beginner through advanced students, working with both children and adults, and focuses on building strong technique, musicality, and confidence.

In addition to guitar, Lou also plays and studies bass, adding depth and versatility to his instruction. His teaching style blends technical knowledge with a genuine love for music, creating lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s goals.

At Senchant’s Art of Teaching, Lou helps students grow not just as musicians—but as confident, expressive artists.
